Presenter Biographies

Brother Cyril Drnjevic, OSB

Brother Cyril became a Benedictine monk at Mount Angel Abbey, near Salem, Oregon, in 1985.  In 1982, a year after graduation from college, he discovered his vocation through a mystical experience. It came during Peace Corps service, which developed into missionary work in Liberia, West Africa.

As a monk he has earned 3 Master’s degrees (Theology, History, Divinity).  His principal work (which he began in 1989) is to give retreats – either alone or on a team – and a wide variety of spiritual talks.

He presents retreats in English or in Spanish.

The retreats he presents alone come from his spiritual reading (lectio divina) topic for the year.  His 2015 retreat theme is:

“The Holy Family and Our holy family: Lessons from Rome for our home.”

The retreats he presents on a team are with Earthen Vessels Retreats©.

These have a Paschal Mystery focus and are given across the U.S. and Canada to communities of permanent deacons or to parish communities.
